Fashion Accessories for 2010

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Neon Fashion Accessories

This years fashion accessories do not see any strikingly new trends, instead giving more momentum to trends that have been steadily growing over the past few seasons, which of course works very well for the bank balance as generally speaking last year’s accessories that you splurged on have not hit the “that is so last season” pile just yet!

Animal prints are going full steam ahead this summer with earings, bags, shoes and clothes all bearing animal print fabrics, of course you may not want to combine them all together!  If you are not quite ready to don a leopard print dress or leopard print pumps, try something a little more subtle in the form of animal print earings, you never know maybe you enjoy them so much you’ll be marching to the high street searching for an animal print jumpsuit!  Animal prints can add a nice touch to a simple outfit.

Knee high and over the knee socks made an appearance in autumn and have continued through to this year’s spring/summer range.  These accessories look great with shorts and flowing dresses.  They are trans-seasonal so investing in a few pairs will see you through into the following year.  There are a range of colours from bright neons, patterns and more natural block colours.

Just like animal prints, studs are continuing in popularity.  Studs are adorned on most fashion accessories – bags, shoes and clothing.  If you’re not quite ready to embrace studs in your wardrobe, you can start with a few subtle embellishments on shoes and bags before being brave enough to move to a complete studded outfit.

Accessories for the head region this summer include bow headbands which are keeping with the 80s theme we have being seeing everywhere and cannot escape.  Big bright bold coloured headbands come with a warning not for the faint hearted or easily embarrassed, if you want something smaller and less conspicuous, there are many more subtle versions to complement any hair do.

Another head accessory that you can really go to town with in summer is the hat.  There are more hats than ever this season, but the hottest hat trend is the Fedora.  This style hat is rather boyish but contrasts well with longer hair.  Another hot hat this summer is the Panama hat for both men and women.  The Panama comes in a range of neutral colours such as khaki, tan, beige and brown.  A staple favourite straw hat never fails to disappoint, and with celebrities such as Cheryl Cole being spotted wearing straw hats at the beach, there is no wonder they are flying off the shelf.

Some Pointers on Women’s Fashion Accessories for the Office Milieu

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Neon Fashion Accessories

Every career woman realizes a great problem subsists for her when she works in the corporate office: the decision on how much to present one’s self as a girl and as corporate employee.

While the job requires conventionality, which in this scenario translates to somberness and professionalism; woman-ness requires femininity and distinctiveness, virtually divergent elements to the previous ones. The quandary is how much of each side must one present to conform to both, and this is not anywhere else shown than in fashion items.
Normal tenets decree muted womanliness, such that while the fashion accessories signal powerfully that one is female, they ought not encumber one from working capably and professionally. Thus, necklaces are supposed to be short, just on the breast, so as not to get stuck on something while one is stooping down. Stretched pearl chains are more correct to parties and social happenings.

Rings may not be gaudy and oversize, nor should earrings extend down for quite parallel basis: they are distractions from competent work and attention-getting.
Company wear is not complemented by bangles, dangling earrings, and brooches. Outside of a wristwatch, no other type of jewelry is customary, aside from a wedding loop if married. Earrings can be of stud type, pearl or silver, but should be plain and stylish. If wanted, a scarf may be sported, but the colors must not be bright and reflective of the company or its line of business.
In the issue of wallets and purses, the eminent preferences are those of clean styles but crafted of authentic leather as much as possible.

Fake leather is okay if they do not show any blemish, folds or signs of too much wear. Moreover, the colors must not mismatch with the office clothes. Wallets and purses also express the owner’s character, so a cheap-looking wallet may denote a cheap person, one thing you do not want to project.
When you have to wear a corporate suit, select a briefcase of plain leather big enough to contain your woman’s and office items such as your toilette compacts, pens and notepads, PDA and some papers besides Tote no other bag or case besides that. If a bag is brought instead, it should be large to hold all those things as well, in addition to a smaller bag for short off-office errands.

Notebook bags, if not of pigskin, should be of dark or neutral colored cordura nylon that does not clash with the office suit. No bright or faddish colors like pastel or neon.
The object is, select accessories that are practical and smart, not glitzy. Except if you are appointed to the creative or art department, a section where personal expression is given more space than anywhere else in the corporate world.

Question by : Black and neon fashion name/type?
I am trying to find out the name of the style that uses black clothes with neon accessories like belts and jewelry and sometimes outfits and shirts that have loud colors.

Is there a name that fits this style?

Question by Lettuce: Religious symbols as fashion accessories?
What do you think of people who use religious symbols as fashion accessories?

I am thinking of people who use crosses and rosaries (as well as less common symbols) as accessories, like the neon coloured plastic rosary necklaces in some high-street fashion stores.

What are your opinions?

Gear Up for Spring 2011′s Fashions With Designer Fashion Accessories For Women

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Neon Fashion Accessories

The new spring fashions have already hit the runways, and we’re seeing a lot of great designer fashion accessories and clothes you can add to your closet.

Cat-eye glasses and sunglasses: Cat-eye glasses hit the scene back in the ’50s (Audrey Hepburn wore them in Breakfast at Tiffany’s), and kept their popularity throughout the ’60s. From that point on they were mostly reserved for those paying homage to those earlier decades’ style, but now they’re officially back in vogue. (Giles Deacon and Paul Smith both featured them in their recent lines.) Grab a pair of regular glasses, shades, or both.

Wide-leg Trousers: This is probably one of the most comfortable upcoming trend of 2011, featured by Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger, among others. Paired with the right top and shoes (heels always look great with them), wide-leg trousers — especially high-waisted ones — can make anyone look fabulous.

Full skirts: In another nod to comfort, full, knee- and shin-length skirts swept the runways (again, in Marc Jacobs line, as well as Suno’s). These are a great way to look classy and elegant — pair them with the cat-eye glasses and you’ll have a super-cute ’50s-inspired look — and can be worn with an assortment of tops and shoes (though flats tend to look best with them.) Another great footwear option is…

Kitten heels: Kitten heels are perfect for those of you who have trouble with the height of most heels but still want to wear them. They typically don’t surpass a couple inches and curve inward at the heel to provide more stability. They were featured last season as well as for this spring, so expect to see a lot of these designer shoes for women.

Belt purses: Basically the cooler younger sister of fanny packs, belt purses are another designer fashion accessory that’s been popping up all over the runways (in the likes of Dianne Von Furstenberg and Jaeger London’s lines). They’re much more stylish than fanny packs, coming in an array of shapes, sizes and colors, but serve essentially the same purpose. They’re perfect for day-to-day life; most can easily fit a wallet, cellphone and makeup, as well as a few other choice items.

Dolman sleeves: Yet again, proof that 2011 might be the one of the most comfortable years in fashion this century, designers have been gravitating toward looser, somewhat boxier tops with dolman sleeves. Karen Walker, Yigal Azrouël, Vena Cava and Rag & Bone all featured them recently, so you’re sure to see them everywhere.

The color palette is pretty much all over the place. A lot of designers used fruity colors — bright oranges, pinks, greens and yellows — but just as many went with neutrals and pastels. So when it comes to colors, use your best judgment, and remember: there’s no reason you can’t mix it up. Pair a bright full skirt with a pair of pastel kitten heels, or wear a neon pink belt purse with some tan trousers. Just keep it classy! With this year’s batch of designer fashion accessories and clothes, it won’t be hard.
